Best. Video. Ever.

Hershey Does It Again.

Well here we go all over again. The Hershey Bears are going to the Calder Cup conference finals...again. Chris Bourque came out to start this game with only two goals and ten points, he ended with 15 points and four goals. Bourque who scored 8:23 into the first and 0:59 into the second was the #1 star. Albany would start the third period with a lead of 4-2. Alexandre Giroux cut the Rats lead to one with just over three minutes left in the third. Hershey would score again in the third period on a goal by Matthew Perrault to tie the game and go into overtime. Perrault would scored again at 2:23 of the overtime to sweep the Rats and end the Albany River Rats franchise as they move to Charlotte, North Carolina and become the Charlotte Checkers. Hershey will no have a week, maybe two, with out an opponent as they wait on the Worcester-Manchester series to end as they will be going to the East Conference Finals for the fourth time in five years.

The Hershey Bears new AHL record - By:Jarrod

By guest writer Jarrod:

The Hershey Bears set an AHL record last Sunday with a 5-3 win. The Bears won 20 consecutive home games, thanks to a pair of third period goals from Francois Bouchard The victory marked the 20Th consecutive win on Giant Center ice, eclipsing an AHL record held by the 1996-97 Philadelphia Phantoms. The Bears first goal was scored by Andrew Gordon. The Bears and Rats traded goals in the second period. In the last couple of seconds of an extended Albany 5-on-3, Bryan Rodney put the River Rats on the board, launching a slap shot from the right circle at 3:50. Hershey answered, as Rodney deflected a cross-ice pass from Oskar Osala through the five hole of Peters at 6:15. Jerome Samson responded for the Rats. Samson struck again for the visitors at 13:01, effectively chasing Bears backstop Braden Holtby from the game. Jason Bacashihua relieved Holtby between the pipes and faced two shots in the second period. The score was at a 3-3 deadlock after 40 minutes.
Just as a power play expired, Karl Alzner fired a shot from the point and Bouchard potted the rebound for his 15Th of the season at 11:24 of the third period. Bryan Helmer tallied the secondary helper to notch his 386Th career assist and broke an AHL record for assists by a defenseman. Bouchard added the insurance at 17:53. The Bears had a game they will never forget.

A WEEK IN REVIEW 11/27-12/4

I asked some questions this week on Facebook....and here are the responses....

Q:Last nights game vs. WBS. Comments?

Answers:Kristin-Well, I had a Penguins guy sitting behind me whining the whole night about the calls, the Pens' guys, whatever and all I could do was laugh. 5-0, awesome for Hershey and stinks to be a Penguins fan. Hershey may have been tired from 4 games in 5 days but they definitely showed up for that game.

Jamie-Neuvy had 42 saves. Nuff said.

Q:Comments about the last two games vs. ADIRONDACK?

Answers:Kristin-I watched the first game online and Hershey looked pretty good. I don't think they played bad at all on Sat. They just looked tired. It figures, that's the game that Cash finally get to play at home. I wish we would get to see him more.

Q:Beagle assigned, Ovi gets two-game suspension...comments?

Answers:Kyle-It [stinks] that Ovi is suspended for 2 games.

Kristin-Well, if they aren't going to play Beagle, let me play in Hershey. As for Ovechkin, he is a big name that plays hard all the time. He is always going to get attention, good and bad. I think the suspension is bogus.

Q:Chris Bourque put on wavers by the Pens....anybody think the Caps should claim him?

Answers:Kyle-yes Bourque needs to come back to the caps and bears

Don-yea they should being him back

Kaylyn-ABSOLUTELY!!!!! Bring Chris back!!!!!!!! He was my favorite player and I was sad to see him go to the Pens, the team I DESPISE!!!

Q:How many people think the caps need to get Nylander out of dc?

Answers:Kyle-Send Nylander to Pitt for Chris and call it a deal

Don-they need to get Nylander out of Washington

THANKS FOR THE THOUGHTS EVERYONE!

The Bad News Bears of Hershey

STORY BY GUEST WRITER JARROD:
The Bad News Bears of Hershey are the guys you love to hate. The Bad Bears are Steve Pinizzotto, Brandon Sugden, Greg Amadio, Patrick Weller, and Grant McNeill. Pinizzotto has 28 penalty minutes, but they all seem to be because of a good fight. Even when he isn't fighting he is stapling people to the boards. Sugden has 33 penalty minutes. He sure can pack a punch. I would definitely not want to be on the other end of his fist. Amadio, who I like to call 'Penalty Boy' or 'Sir Fights Alot', has the most penalty minutes of the team, with a whopping 54 minutes. He is fun to watch on the ice, as he is always causing trouble but in a good way. Weller is also somewhat of a Bad News Bear as he can throw some good punches as well. His time in the sin bin is at 16 minutes. Grant McNeil is a strong defenceman as well with 16 minutes of serving time. He likes to throw down as needed and can pack a good punch. The best team the Hershey Bears and and all them guys you love to hate always make watching a game much more exciting by there antics on the ice. They sure know how to raise Bear Nation in the Barn.
