Also OVI's goal

8 is great...but not on blogs

It's almost 2009 and I haven't made a post since the 23rd. Sorry about not getting on since Christmas Eve EVE but all the fooling around since then then made me forget. As the Winter Classic is just hours away the Bears are on the road and a nice bus. After practice I got to see it and it has a satellite TV and the guys have to stay on it for 4 games. I fell so bad for them... not for going on a bus up to the New England area for 4 games an won't be back 'till 09, for being on a bus with Kip Brennan and a guitar. As they beat the Falcons (even though they had in goal Oliers Jeff Deslauriers) 2-0 on Teddy Bear Toss night. The Hawks and Wings get reddy for tomorow as they got 1 hour of practice and 1 hour of family skate which was a nice thing.

HAVE A HAPPY, HOCKEY, AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR!

Alexander is GREAT!!!!!

And the change OVIE brought us for the holiday...Two goals and win against the Rangers. Thanks to him "Flash", and Kozlov the Caps came back from a 4-0 deficit to send the game into OT. Then, a miracle on "Mo's" birthday... he scores the game winning goal and his first of the season. Nice birthday present. Gordon had 7:12 min and 1 shot. Congrats Gordo.

* I got a better one than last time; sorry about the last one.

Caps '04 7th round choice finaly gets his chance

Neer 10am today Andrew Gordon and Brain Helmer got the call to go to "The City That Never Sleeps" for the Caps game tonight against the Rangers. This is the second sitnt for Helmer and Gordons NHL debute. Helmer, 36, has played 19 years in the majors and minors as he has only played 104 games in his NHL career with 16 points and half as many goals. As for Gordon this is his first NHL game. Washington's 197th overall in 2004 has played for both the Bears and Stingrays in the last two years. The game is at MSG and is on CSN-DC at 7pm.

Bacashihua Bumbles in Shootout as Gordo is hero in Bears Win

With Varlamov back in goal since being called-up to DC and Hershey coming off a win it looked like everyone was in for a treat. With the game tied up going into OT and Bridgeport winning it secured a one point lead over the Tigers hopping to make that two. With five shots combined over the two teams it headed in to a shootout. Bourque scored first and Lake Erie beating Simeon once that it came down to Gordo. At first it looked like Bacashihua saved it but we were fooled. Varlamov made the final save and the Bears got another win. They will practice the 26Th and have games the 27Th and 28Th as Machesney leaves for Switzerland and the Spengler Cup.

Bears Back On Track.

Bears win even though Cheese had a lonnely night and by that I mean he only saw 19 shots and saved 17 as the Bears won 4-2. Also congrads to Daren on making Team Canada for the 08 Spengler Cup. Wilson had a 2 goal night and Minker had the first goal 11 seconds in to the game. As John Walton put it: Mink scores even before the croud can get their popcorn out. The Bears take sole possession of first place as Bridgeport loses tonight at home. The Bears take on Lake Erie tomorrow at 5:00 PM in the Frezzer Aisle. The Caps have a couple of days to regroup after a 7-1 lost to Phily. They will head up to New York to take on the Rangers on the 23rd at 7:00 PM.

Here are the game notes.

On a final note in no relations to hockey another congrads to PSU Lady Lions Volleyball team for winning back-2-back NCAA titles and beatting Stanford back-2-back also.

Zamboni go boom

Look what happen at Wrigley Field yesterday...

Nobody (including the Zamboni) got hurt.Crews said the brakes on the Zamboni failed. Danny Ahern, who works at the United Center, was the driver.

First post

If you are a hockey fan from Hershey or the Washington area laugh all you want at me. I'm going to the Hershey Bears vs. Lowell Devils game tonight. Bears are 7-0 at home and are looking for a win after a disapointing road trip with two losses breaking their 11 game winning streak and one postpone game. With Simeon Varlamov back from DC and Kip Brennan back to Hershey it sounds like Hershey will be back on track tonight
